La Molina, the oldest ski resort in Spain, installed its first commercial ski lift in 1943. Throughout its history, it has offered sport and leisure for all ages.
Most of its area is located in the Cerdanya region, has 61 skiable kilometers distributed over 54 slopes for all levels, a large snowpark and the biggest superpipe in the Pyrenees. In addition, among the leisure offers for non skiers, it proposes a wide range of activities such as snow-grooming, snowshoeing or segway on snow.
It also has a long experience in hosting international events such as the Alpine Skiing World Cup (2008), the Snowboard World Championship (2011) or the Disabled Alpine Skiing World Championships (2013). Therefore, a long history and a bright future ahead.

La Molina (Girona, Spain) ends its three days of European Championships crowning the new European MTB downhill champions, an event with a great atmosphere and a crowd of up to 12,000 people.
The event has gathered 420 riders from 28 countries on the Comella DH track in which the best Spaniards have been Cristina Menéndez (8th) and Daniel Castellanos (10th)
Saturday was marked by official training sessions and the qualifying round on the Comella DH track, which determined the starting order for Sunday's grand final. The favourites came out on top in the Elite category: Austria's Andreas Kolb and Switzerland's Lisa Baumann. Spain's Castellanos achieved a very promising result ahead of Sunday's final, finishing in 2nd place, just 4 hundredths of a second behind Kolb.
There was a great atmosphere in the finish area with food trucks, a pump track, a village and an afternoon of activities open to the public with live music and a tribute to the most veteran Catalan riders.

From August 1st to 3rd, the resort will welcome 420 riders from 27 countries, in an event that combines competition, entertainment and activities for all audiences. The village located in the arrival area with food trucks, haimes, pump track, live music and preferential access to services, will turn La Molina into a party open to everyone.
The mountain resort of La Molina, of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat, culminates a spectacular summer of downhill mountain biking with the arrival of the best riders on the continent. The Government of Spain and the Generalitat de Catalunya lead the institutional support of this championship that will have 500 participants from 21 countries with national teams.
The Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya resort has also been the venue for the Catalan Downhill Championship where Oriol Cuadrat and Mireia Pi have been the fastest. The La Molina mountain resort, owned by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat, is kicking off a spectacular DHI summer with the celebration of these two competitions on July 18, 19 and 20.
After the start of the season on June 14, the resort is 100% full with the opening of aquatic activities, the Cap de Comella chairlift and the launch of new spaces and proposals for all audiences. A diversification of experiences to enjoy the mountains, sports, gastronomy and nature with innovative activities and augmented reality.
The mountain resort of La Molina, owned by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat, will host the most important event of the national DH (July 18, 19, 20) and continental (August 1, 2, 3), where the participation of more than 400 top-level athletes from 20 countries is expected. The Government of Spain and the Generalitat de Catalunya are leading the institutional support for these championships.
From June to October, cycling, trail running and other disciplines fill the summer calendar with national and international events. La Molina will host the Catalan, Spanish and European Downhill Championships, Vall de Núria will be home to the classic Olla de Núria and Vallter will be the stage for the traditional Marrana Skyrace.
The Catalonian, Spanish and European DH Championships will turn La Molina into the centre of mountain biking during the months of July and August. This year's new features also include the inauguration of the Xiringuito del Llac, new walking, mountain bike and eBike routes, and a new circuit in the Bike Park at the Girona resort.
FGC's tourist facilities will offer nearly 100 km of hiking and trail running routes, 56 sports and nature activities, 13 downhill circuits, 23 children's activities, 12 catering points and rides on 7 ski lifts. The proposal is designed for all audiences and with a diversified offer to offer an active and accessible destination 365 days a year.
