One of the most anticipated international events on the trail running calendar will bring together the best runners in the world in the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park on October 3, 4 and 5.
La Molina will once again be the venue for one of the races that are part of the Salomon Ultra Pirineu, the Nit Pirineu KV®, which will take place tomorrow, Friday.
The regions of Berguedà and Cerdanya will once again be the scene of one of the most anticipated trail running events of the year, the Salomon Ultra Pirineu, a competition that this year returns to La Molina, a mountain station of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), which will host the entire Nit Pirineu KV® race tomorrow, Friday, October 3. With the 16th edition of the Salomon Ultra Pirineu, FGC reinforces its commitment to putting the Catalan Pyrenees on the international map of sporting events.
The president of Ferrocarrils, Carles Ruiz Novella, accompanied by the general director, Alicia Valle Cantalejo, and the director of FGC Turisme, Toni Sanmartí Rovira, and the manager of La Molina, Toni Bertran Giraut, will attend the Nit Pirineu (departure at 6:30 p.m.) and will participate in the awards ceremony (8:15 p.m.).
Five races in three days
For three days (October 3, 4 and 5), the Cadí Moixeró Natural Park will become the epicenter of world trail running. The competition program will maintain the four distances that make it unique and accessible to different profiles of athletes. The spirit of improvement will be experienced in the Salomon Ultra Pirineu 100k®, the demand in the Salomon Marató Pirineu 42K®, the speed in the Salomon Mitja Pirineu 21K® and the verticality in LaMolina Nit Pirineu VK. In addition, the Pirineu XS, the children's version of the Salomon Ultra Pirineu, will also take place.
To guarantee optimal development of the race and minimize its impact on the natural environment, the organization has limited the number of bibs: 1,200 for the Ultra and the Marathon, 900 for the Mitja and 200 for the Nit Pirineu.
The resort adapts to host the events
As part of the Salomon Ultra Pirineu 2025, La Molina has adapted its services to host the events. As a result of the remodeling works at the Niu de l’Àliga refuge, the route has been adjusted so that the Nit Pirineu reaches the intermediate station of the Telecabina. In addition, the Ultra will also pass there and will have refreshments at this same point. The ticket office will open from 3:30 to 6:45 p.m. on Friday, October 3 and from 5:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 4. For its part, the opening hours of the Telecabina, which this year will only reach the intermediate station, will be from 4:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday and from 5:45 to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. During the weekend, the Telecabina, in addition to the special hours, will also operate during the usual hours from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
