From February 8 to 13, 2022, the Boí Taüll resort will be the setting for the ISMF European Championships Skimo, a competition that becomes the most important on the international skimo calendar of the season.
The 2022 Europeans, organized by FGC and awarded by the International Mountain Ski Federation, will host sprint, vertical, individual and relay events.
It is a sporting event that will help in positioning the resort internationally as a high-level destination. In addition, for the territory it represents a recognition and for the Alta Ribagorça resort it implies a positioning decided by the skimo, configuring a very versatile and advanced resort in time, it will be Olympic in Milan-Cortina 2026.
The ski and mountain resort of FGC Turisme is presented as the best option to host these Europeans, since it has all the necessary services to host an event of this size. Its location, high altitude and orientation guarantee the best snow conditions. The morphology of its skiable area makes it ideal for hosting major sporting events.
Four competitions, three of them Olympic
Boí Taüll has experience in organizing high-level alpine skiing competitions, since in three years it has hosted two editions of the Spanish Skimo Championships. Events that have allowed to obtain the trust of the different federations responsible for this sporting specialty.
Of the four competitions that will be held in Boí Taüll, three of them will be those that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has decided to be part of the Olympic Games: sprint, individual and relays. All this means that the European Championships events are already in Olympic format.
