From October 12 to November 3, the sixth edition of the Gollut Festival of committed cinema, photojournalism, mountain and environment will be held in Ribes de Freser, and other locations. On November 1 Vall de Núria will host the conference “You set your own limits", by Àlex Roca Campillo, and a special rack railway price will be offered (€ 12.8 for adults and € 7.8 for children).
In this edition, the "Gollut Concord Award" will be awarded with the aim of fostering harmony between cultures and religions. In this sixth edition of the Gollut Festival, 61 sessions have been scheduled and more than 2,000 spectators are expected to attend. It will be the largest and most extensive Gollut Festival held so far.
The program of this sixth edition has a wide selection of proposals. As for the full-length films stand out the following ones: Em dic Violeta (2019) by David Fernández de Castro and Marc Parramon, who deals with transsexuality, Ainhoa, jo no sóc aquesta (2018) by Carolina Astrudillo, a film about suicide and El Periple by Mario Pons Múria, a film about the Filippiada refugee camp in Greece. As for the section dedicated to short films, up to 19 titles will be screened. However, its programming includes a wide range of proposals such as "Special Sessions: cinema with values" with 11 films of very different themes.
The Gollut Festival, with its vocation to generate social and environmental awareness, is more than a film contest born in Ribes de Freser and takes place 13 other parts of the world, such as Zurich and Basel, Barcelona, Figueres, Cassà de la Selva, Lloret de Mar, Ripoll, Planoles or La Vall de Núria.
The name of the festival and its awards is a recognition of the golluts, a community of people who were discriminated until their disappearance in the mid-twentieth century. Again, the Gollut Awards will once again recognize the works of the audiovisual, cinematographic and photographic creators. They will recognize audiovisual talent, but also the content and values transmitted in the works.
