Vall de Núria will celebrate Saint Gil, the patron saint of the shepherds of the eastern Pyrenees. In the past, this day marked the end of the high mountain grazing season. It is a religious festival that combines solemn acts (such as a mass or a procession) with musical proposals and traditional dances.

As every year, the station will prepare a fun, gastronomic and cultural activities to honor the saint, among which stand out the shepherds' breakfast, the sheep selection, the sardanas, the commemorative mass, the torch procession to Saint Gil and the long-awaited demonstration of halter dogs.

Sunday, August 31

• 8:00 pm    First Vespers (at the Basilica) Procession to the Ermita de Sant Gil
• 10:30 pm    Campfire and rom cremat with musical evening featuring Amadeu&Cia (in front of the Basilica)

At the end, there will be special transport uphill to the hostel.

Monday, September 1

• 9:15 am    Shepherds’ breakfast (in front of the Ermita de Sant Gil)
• 10:30 am    Sardanas with the Cobla de la Nova del Vallès
• 12:00 pm    Solemn Mass (at the Basilica) presided over by Archbishop Josep-Lluís Serrano, with music by Cor Santa Maria de Ribes de Freser. Afterwards: Procession to the Patron’s hermitage
• 3:30 pm    Sheepdog demonstration
