The event, which has been held in Innsbruck every two years since 1974, is the world's leading event in cable transport technologies, snow management and alpine infrastructure.
The company's president, Carles Ruiz Novella, received the award from the head of the police region, Chief Superintendent Daniel Pérez. The Generalitat Police also publicly congratulated two skiers from Boí Taüll who collaborated in a mountain rescue in the 2023-24 season.
The Hotel de Vall de Núria will become the world epicenter of Rubik's Cube solving, with the participation of specialists from five nationalities. The event, with results valid for rankings and world records, will be free for the public.
The snowfall and the constant work of the technical teams on the slopes have allowed the ski areas to be open for up to 134 days, from December to April. Complementary activities, such as the offer of amusement parks and sledges, outings with retrac machines and rides with ski lifts, together with the enhancement of the gastronomic offer have allowed to recover the influx of previous years. The resorts are already working, within the Pirineu 365 project, in the summer season to promote activity in nature and the high mountains all year round.
The snowfall recorded during the month of March and the work of the track preparation teams at the Ferrocarrils tourist facilities allow us to ensure an Easter with the resorts open until April 21. Among the proposals are the Easter Egg Gymkhana in La Molina and Vall de Núria, the musical Vermut in Vallter and the parties to bid farewell to the season in Espot Esquí, Port Ainé and Boí Taüll.
The mountain cooking days, which will be held on April 7th and 8th, are part of the events ofCatalunya Regió Mundial de la Gastronomia. They will feature Culinary Collectives and representatives from the Pyrenean regions, and a showcooking by Joan Roca.
