The first images were promoted by the Centre Excursionista de Catalunya, which organized outstanding weeks of winter sports.
During the 1910s and 1920s, these competitions were advertised with colorful posters, usually performed by authors who were also skiers and mountain sports.
In 1930, in order to publicize the zip line that was to facilitate the arrival of visitors to the Núria valley, a poster competition was called, divided into two categories, summer and winter. These are excellent examples of modern poster design.
All these images highlight the different attractions of the place: the sanctuary, with the Romanesque Virgin Mary; mountain trails and ski slopes; the picturesque location and, in a prominent way, the means of transport that leads there and that singularizes the experience of visiting the Vall de Núria.
